Gingerbread Castle Pattern
A home is a castle I always say so why not a gingerbread castle with towers and drawbridge a good child craft activity. Print the pattern on regular, white 8 1/2" x 11" (or larger) paper. Cut out the shapes and place on top of rolled out gingerbread dough to cut out each house or castle piece (then remove the paper and discard).
Make a base for the castle out of stiff cardboard or suitable plate or platter so you can carry the castle to display. I used old record covers back in the olden days, but no one knows what records are any more. Every year my children and I would construct gingerbread houses and castles to present to their favorite teacher to share with the class.
Assemble the castle walls and other parts by gluing pieces together using melted sugar or icing. Decorate with candies and icings.
